Team Rogers Finishes on Top in FP Stock Challenge

MBA Students from the Ted Rogers School of Management recently competed in the Fifth Annual Financial Post Stock Market Challenge, a stock market simulation put on by the National Post. The group showed their true trading colours after finishing second among 15 top Canadian MBA schools with a 16 percent return over a three month period.
The team, lead by coach Dr. Allen Goss and captain Majed Masad yielded a substantially higher return than that of the boarder market return over the same period. “We had a theme-based approach to the competition, with a percentage of our assets allocated to core holdings and the rest for speculative plays. The key to our success in the competition was that we were able maximize profits on winning trades and minimize losses on bad trades. We were good at risk management and it simply paid off” said Masad.
Other team members included Will Davis, Haran Moorthy, Tom Prattas, Peter Preradovic, Jeremy Thompson, Rozmin Parpia, and Susan Zabolotniuk.
