On Friday, April 15, MBA students celebrated their achievements, new friendships and launch into their integrative semester by having a year-end gala held at the Rosewater Room in downtown Toronto. Among the awards given at this event, MBA student Sarah Ahmed received the Graduate Achievement Award, presented by Kent Chin. Kent was a member of the 2008 graduating Ryerson MBA class, and generously donated money for this award, which is given to a current MBA student who has a child or children, serves Ryerson or the community, and shows outstanding academic achievement. Sarah is new to Canada, has a two-year-old son and has extensively participated in the Ryerson community along with being active in many MBA events. The Graduate Achievement Award is the first of financial support donated by an alumnus.
