Ryerson MBA Students Volunteer in Honduras

Eight Ryerson MBA students travelled to Honduras over reading week through All Access Volunteers (AAV), an organization that helps to provide unique and customized volunteer experiences.  The students worked with “Helping Honduras Kids” (HHK), a non-profit volunteer organization that manages an orphanage with ongoing building projects, including the Jungle School, one of the community programs founded by HHK. In particular, the students built a wall needed to protect a new classroom, which had been flooded by mud previously due to torrential rains. Once the fortification was completed, the students wrote a permanent quote on the wall: “La educatioń es la clave de tus exitos.” (Education is the key to your success). MBA students, staff and faculty generously donated more than five suitcases full of food, hygiene products and other essentials to the Jungle School, orphanage and to the families living in the area.
