Annual “To-Do” Checklist for Students

Year One (incoming students)
  1. Mail signed Offer of Admission to the MEP by the deadline
  2. Book an academic advising appointment in person or via skype/phone
  3. Complete photo consent form and student declaration of insurance
  4. Complete student information form (due early August, once Ryerson ID is available)
  5. Students should also consult the Ryerson website for new students regarding activating online identity, tuition payment, OSAP application, etc.   

For students entering MWF 150 Midwifery With Woman

  1. Provide your Police Reference Check (PRC) including vulnerable sector by August 1st
  2. Send in your completed Health Screening by August 1st

If a student fails to provide the PRC or Health Screening, the student will receive notification that practice requirements have not been met and the course will be dropped from the student’s program for that year. 

Year Two (year of entry into NC if part time)
  1. Submit a complete Practice Requirements Record with supporting documentation to the MEP Office in hard copy in one envelope by November 15th. Incomplete packages will not be processed and will be returned.
  2. Register for Adobe Connect in November or December and attend an online orientation session in December; purchase a headset prior to the orientation
  3. Note that due to the lottery, students in Winter Normal Childbearing (NC) will be enrolled in the course in the first week of December and students in Spring/Summer Normal Childbearing will be enrolled in the first week of April. This may impact students on OSAP who should consult the Student Financial Assistance Office

Keep originals of all documents in case they are required during your clinical placement. Completion of this Record is mandatory to participate in clinical placements. If practice requirements are incomplete by the deadline for submission, entry to clinical activities will be delayed.

Year Three (year of entry into ACSI/II if part time)
  1. In early April, attend web-conference on orientation to 3rd year courses. You will receive an invitation to participate via your Ryerson email
  2. In late spring, complete and submit the Request for Interprofessional Placements I & II form which will be sent to your Ryerson email
  3. Register for ALARM in July upon receipt of email from the MEP with instructions
  4. Submit a complete Practice Requirements Record with supporting documentation to the MEP Office in hard copy in one envelope by August 15th. Incomplete packages will not be processed and will be returned.

Year Four (graduation year if part time)
  1. Submit a complete Practice Requirements Record with supporting documentation to the MEP Office in hard copy in one envelope by August 15th. Incomplete packages will not be processed and will be returned.
  2. Register to take the CMRE exam (usually before mid-March for the May exam)
  3. Get organized to register with the CMO.
  4. Apply to graduate!
