Employers: Find interns and qualified graduates

Find qualified students and graduates. Ryerson MIE students get the kind of applied learning that leaves them ready to step into real-world work situations. Their hands-on, teamwork-based training makes them ideal candidates for your entry-level positions and internship opportunities.

MIE Co-operative Internship Program

Ryerson partners with you for a 12-16 month internship in your company for a qualified student. You get a student who has completed three years of study and has a solid grounding in theory and technical skills. The year-long stint means that you get more and better productivity for the same amount of training as you would have to give a short-term intern. If students prove valuable, you may be able to hire them after graduation. Studies have shown that company participation in internship programs reduces the costs of employee recruitment and greatly improves the rate of success of hires. Companies that hire students as part of an internship program are often eligible for financial support through the Ontario Co-operative Education Tax Credit and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Awards (NSERC).
