Biography:
Dr. Cory Searcy is an Associate Professor and Director of the Industrial Engineering Program at Ryerson University. He is also cross-appointed to the Environmental Applied Science and Management Program. His research interests include corporate sustainability indicators, sustainability reporting, and sustainable supply chain management. His research has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the International Journal of Production Economics. In 2010, he won an Outstanding Paper Award for a paper published in Measuring Business Excellence. His research has been funded by a number of external agencies, including NSERC, SSHRC, MITACS, the Canadian Purchasing Research Foundation, and several private corporations. Dr. Searcy has been a judge for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) Sustainability Reporting Awards since 2008. Prior to joining the faculty at Ryerson, he was an Assistant Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. He has also worked as a manufacturing manager and as an operational analyst in the health care industry.
