Biography:
Dr. Shudong Yu worked for Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) and undertook various projects in the area of nuclear fuel modeling and design. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He conducts research and supervises graduate students in several areas including multibody contact, flow induced vibration, structural vibrations and machine tool chatter.
Qualifications:
PhD - Mechanical Engineering (University of Toronto)
M. A. Sc. - Applied Mechanics (Northeastern University)
B. Eng - Mechanical Engineering (Southern Institute of Metallurgy)
Research Interest:
Flow induced vibrations and applications to nuclear fuel bundle fretting, multibody contact and dynamics, nonlinear system dynamics and vibrations of beams, plates and shells.
