Biography:
Dr. Friedman received his undergraduate degree from McGill University in 1984, then worked as a project engineer in the industrial furnace and process heating industries designing and commissioning industrial furnaces and process heating systems. He enrolled in graduate school in 1992 and conducted research on spray flames and combustion diagnostics, receiving his PhD in 1998. He has been working at Ryerson since 1999, teaching and conducting research on fluidized bed heat transfer and combustion, as well as continuing work on combustion diagnostics.
