Dr. Elizabeth Podnieks is an Associate Professor of English at Ryerson University. Her research focuses on modernist life writing, including modernist biography. She is author of Daily Modernism: The Literary Diaries of Virginia Woolf, Antonia White, Elizabeth Smart, and Anais Nin (McGill-Queen's University Press, 2000), and co-editor, with Sandra Chait, of Hayford Hall: Hangovers, Erotics, and Modernist Aesthetics (Southern Illinois UP, 2005). She is also a guest editor for a/b: Autobiography. Her focus at the MLC Research Center includes the preparation of a scholarly edition of Emily Coleman's unpublished modernist and literary diaries.
