An Introduction to Urban Beekeeping Workshop!!

Rye's HomeGrown is excited to announce our first ever URBAN BEEKEEPING WORKSHOP, which will be facilitated by Melissa Berney and Shawn Caza (members of the Toronto Beekeepers cooperative).

Come out and learn about urban beekeeping and the importance of honeybees in a sustainable local community. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge for beekeeping such as location, hive, bee and gear choices as well as considerations of beekeeping in Toronto. There will be opportunities for hands-on examination of a variety of equipment and demonstration hives (sorry, no live bees). In the process we'll touch on some basic bee biology, interesting facts about their life cycles, and the production and storage of honey. It'll be SWEET!

PLEASE RSVP to ryeshomegrown@ryerson.ca by May 26th, 2013.
