Ryerson talks fashion with Canada’s famous fashion duo DSquared2

Ryerson University was fashion-capital-for-a-day today, as it played host to Dean and Dan Caten, the Canadian born twins and designers behind the DSquared2 lifestyle fashion brand. The stylish twins are in town to receive their star on Canada’s Walk of Fame during the 2009 Canada Honours Tribute on Saturday, September 12, but first they stopped by the University for a special Q&A session with the fashion leaders of tomorrow.

With Jeanne Beker moderating, Dean and Dan gave their best advice to Ryerson School of Fashion students and other fashion students from the GTA:
• Believe in your own vision, in yourself, in your dream and don’t get distracted by what others tell you.
• Whatever you do, do it from the heart.
• If you try and you fail, you can always go back to where you were. Why not try to go to the next level?
• In fashion, the first thing you should ask yourself is, ‘Would I wear this?’
