For some Ryerson students, university is not just about attending classes and achieving high marks, it is also about making a difference in people’s lives. On Monday, April 15 outstanding Ryerson students will receive a Dennis Mock Student Leadership Award to recognize their exemplary voluntary extracurricular contributions to their school, academic program department, or to Ryerson as a whole.
John Isbister, Interim Provost and Vice President Academic, and Dennis Mock, former Ryerson Vice-President, Academic, will present awards to 66 Ryerson students from all six faculties.
Launched in 2000, the Dennis Mock Student Leadership Awards were established to honour Mock, who served as vice president, academic, among other roles at Ryerson for nearly 30 years. In naming the awards after Mock, Ryerson recognizes his commitment to higher education. His leadership and dedication, demonstrated during his 28 years at the university, are qualities embodied in students chosen to receive this award.
