Sam Tanenhaus, writer-at-large at The New York Times, will share with Ryerson students and alumni his insights on his writing career and successes on Thursday, April 18, 6 p.m. at the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto.
Tanenhaus was the New York Times Sunday Book Review editor from 2004 to April 2013, and, for a part of that time, was also the editor of The Week in Review. A prolific writer, he has published essays and articles in many publications, including The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and The New Republic. He also authored Whittaker Chambers: A Biography (Random House, 1997), which was a finalist for both the 1998 Pulitzer Prize in biography and the National Book Award, and won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Tanenhaus is currently working on a biography of William F. Buckley Jr.
This invitation-only lecture is part of the fifth anniversary celebrations of Ryerson’s Literatures of Modernity MA Program.
