Biography:

Dr. Waddell is a faculty member in the school and has held several positions in nursing clinical practice, education and administration. Her research foci include violence against women and children, aggressive girls’ health, student and faculty career planning and development, student engagement and the development and evaluation of nursing curricular content related to issues of violence. Current research projects include a longitudinal intervention study exploring the impact of career planning and development on student and new graduate nurses’ career resilience, factors influencing student engagement in nursing education and an intervention study examining alumni mentoring senior students. Janice currently teaches in the graduate program, with an emphasis on Leadership in Nursing Education. She currently serves as in the roles of faculty advisor and thesis supervisor to graduate students. Janice is Vice-President of the Registered Nurses Foundation of Ontario acting as Chair of the SARS Memorial Fund, the Rolling Stones/CPI Scholarship Fund and the Fall Fundraising Event.
