Keynote Address: Bridging Effectiveness Gaps Through Implementation Science: What do context and diversity have to do with it? Dr. Nancy Edwards There have been substantial advances in research to examine the effectiveness of nursing interventions. Researchers based in both academic and clinical settings have contributed to these gains; clients, families and communities have benefited from these advances. Yet, the diversity of the clients and populations nurses serve, and the wide range of contextual influences on nursing interventions and health outcomes are important research and knowledge translation challenges. I describe how an implementation science approach may help to address these challenges, using a number of illustrative examples. |
