Visiting Professorship 2009-2010
On Tuesday, March 16, 2010, the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing was pleased to present the University Lecture from Distinguished Visiting Professor Dr. Brendan McCormack, Professor of Nursing Research, Institute of Nursing Research, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, entitled "Knowledge Translation to Advance Practice: With a Focus on Aged Care". This professorship in Nursing was created to honour the naming of the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, made possible by the generous donation from the Cockwell family.

Brendan McCormack is Professor of Nursing Research at the Institute of Nursing Research, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. Among his many areas of expertise are Gerontological Nursing and Knowledge Translation. Dr. McCormack is co-author of the textbook, Practice Development in Nursing (Blackwell, 2004), author of Negotiating Partnerships with Older People - A Person-Centered Approach (Ashgate, 2001), as well as numerous book chapters, government and agency reports and conference presentations.
