Graduates of the Collaborative Nursing Degree Program are in great demand because their insight, inventiveness, compassion and skill make them highly employable. The rate of employment for graduates is among the highest anywhere in Ontario, and graduates regularly land in desirable work settings because employers want the best students they can find.
In particular, employers value the diverse competencies that program graduates demonstrate: well-developed practical skills, a commitment to innovation and change, a passion for helping, and a broad understanding of the issues and challenges that modern healthcare providers face.
Upon graduation, there are numerous work options to pursue, such as public health, community or parish health, acute care, outpatient clinics or clinical education. You could also work in a long-term care facility, a home for the aged, a psychiatric hospital or a nursing telepractice. And if you decide to pursue advanced learning, you could engage in teaching or research as a Nurse Practioner, advanced practice nurse, researcher, manager in a healthcare facility or teacher in a school of nursing.
