Biography:

I am an associate professor in the School of Nutrition at Ryerson University. My research focuses on the physiological and environmental factors that contribute to appetite and energy imbalances in children with the goal of providing a foundation for advice on diet composition, physical activity, and environment in preventing and managing overeating in children. 

I am the recipient of several competitive awards including the Dean’s Teaching Award (2014), the Sue Williams Excellence Teaching Award (2016), and the Dean's Scholarly, Research and Creative Activity Award (2017). I am a member of several journal editorial boards and provide scientific advising to government agencies and institutes and the food industry.
