Biography:

Nick Bellissimo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nutrition at Ryerson University.  Dr. Bellissimo’s research continues to focus on the physiological and environmental factors that contribute to appetite and energy imbalances in children with the goal of providing a foundation for advice on diet composition, acute aerobic activity, and environment in preventing and managing overeating in children.

Dr. Bellissimo is the recipient of several competitive awards including the Danone Institute of Canada Doctoral Fellowship, Canadian Institutes of Health Research Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition Research, and most recently was awarded the Doctoral Dissertation Award of the Canadian Society for Nutritional Sciences for outstanding research contributing to the degree of PhD. His current research is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Danone Institute of Canada, and Agri-Food Industry.
