What is a GO Transit Student ID card?

Go Transit offers discounts, to student passengers, off the adult 10-ride ticket price and adult monthly passes. For a Go student ticket or monthly pass to be accepted, a student must carry a valid GO Transit Student ID card and their Ryerson Student ID card.

GO Transit Student ID cards are provided free to eligible Ryerson students through collaboration between GO Transit and Ryerson University.

GO Transit Student ID cards are valid until October 31st of the following school year.

Who is eligible for a GO Transit Student ID card?

Ryerson undergraduate or graduate students registered in a full-time program and enrolled in a full course load for the fall and winter terms are eligible for the GO Transit Student ID card.

Undergraduate or graduate students registered for 1 term only of full time studies are not eligible for the GO Transit Student ID card.

Students enrolled in part time undergraduate and graduate programs and students enrolled in Chang School certificate programs and/or courses are NOT eligible for the GO Transit Student ID card.

GO Transit Student ID Card Application Procedures

Applications for the 2011/2012 GO Transit Student ID Card will be online starting in early August 2011. It is recommended that you submit your online application by mid-August to receive your card for the start of the term and to enjoy the full benefits of paying the student discount rate.

Once your application is submitted, your program and enrollment information will be verified for eligibility. You may pick up your GO Transit Student ID Card from the OneCard office; see below for the first date you may pick up your card. You will be required to present your Ryerson Student ID card to collect your GO Transit Student Card.

Ryerson’s OneCard Office will begin to distribute these cards to eligible students starting the week of August 30, 2011.

GO Transit Student ID Cards PICKUP LOCATION:

You may pick up your GO Transit Student ID Card from the OneCard office during regular business hours. You will be required to present your Ryerson Student ID card to collect your GO Transit Student Card.

 

You must present your Ryerson Student ID card to collect your GO Transit Student ID Card.        

 NO EXCEPTIONS.


Procedures for Lost Cards

Please note that if you have lost your GO Transit Student Identification Card, in order to obtain a new card you will be required to do the following:

  • Go to the OneCard Office, which is located in 380 Victoria Street, room JOR02 on the Lower Ground floor level, to declare the card as lost.
  • If you are eligible for a new card, you will be provided with an application for a replacement GO Transit Student Identification Card.
  • The application will need to be taken to GO Transit at Union Station to be validated by their personnel (you can either go in person or send via Canada Post, further instructions are provided on the application form).
