Dr. Mooers is Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University, which he served as Chair from 2001 to 2006, and as Interim Chair in 2011/12. A member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, he is also affiliated to the York-Ryerson Graduate Programme in Communication and Culture, which he served as Graduate Director for the Ryerson MA and PhD programs from 2006 to 2011.
In addition to a PhD in Social and Political Thought
from York University (Canada), Professor Mooers holds a Bachelor of
Arts (Honours-Philosophy) from the University of Ottawa and a Master
of Arts (Philosophy) from the University of Toronto).
Colin’s major areas of undergraduate teaching
are in political theory, theories of the state, organization theory,
globalization and governance. His graduate teaching is in core theories
in cultural studies. His areas of research and publishing include: the
political economy of capitalism, political theory, social movements,
theories of citizenship, and the public sphere.
