Dr. Greg Inwood is Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, and a member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, at Ryerson University. He completed a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Toronto. He also holds an M.A. in Political Science and an Honours B.A. in History, both from the University of Western Ontario.

Greg was appointed to a full-time faculty position in 1998 and achieved the rank of full Professor in 2007. He teaches courses on Canadian federalism and intergovernmental relations, the political economy of Canadian-American relations, and public administration.

Greg's research interests include Canadian federalism, the Canadian political economy, public administration and trade policy.

On 02 June 2006, the Canadian Political Science Association awarded Greg's book, Continentalizing Canada: The Politics and Legacy of the Macdonald Royal Commission (University of Toronto Press, 2005) its prestigious Donald Smiley Prize, which is awarded annually for "the best book published in English or in French in a field relating to the study of government and politics in Canada."

Greg is also the author of one of the leading textbooks in the field of Canadian public administration, Understanding Canadian Public Administration: An Introduction to Theory and Practice, 3rd ed. (Toronto: Pearson-Prentice Hall, 2009).

Currently, Greg is working with Dr. Patricia O'Reilly and Dr. Carolyn Johns on a major research project entitled “Intergovernmental Policy Capacity in Canada: A Comparative Analysis of Intergovernmental, Finance, Trade, Environment and Health Policy.” He is also preparing a revised edition of his public administration textbook, co-editing a forthcoming study on public inquiries and policy change, and writing a new textbook on Canadian federalism.

In addition, Greg is a frequent media commentator on Canadian politics. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Parliamentary and Political Law, a past Member of the Board of the Canadian Political Science Association, and is a past Director of the Ontario Legislature Internship Programme.
