From 2002 until 2010, Judy Rebick held the Sam Gindin Chair in Social Justice and Democracy, having been appointed to it upon its creation.  The Chair – hosted jointly by the Department of Politics and Public Administration in the Faculty of Arts, and the School of Social Work in the Faculty of Community Services – was made possible by a generous donation by the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) which wished to honour its long-time and influential policy analyst, Sam Gindin, by creating a hub of interaction between academics and social justice activists.  

In addition to her duties as the Gindin Chair, Judy was, for many years, the publisher of www.rabble.ca, Canada’s most popular independent news site. She is a long time activist in the women’s and social justice movements.

In Fall 2010, Judy will teach an intensive mode version of Social Movements that Change the World (POL601).
