Peter Ryan is a doctoral candidate – and a Rogers Fellow – in the Joint York/Ryerson Communication and Culture program. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and English), and a Master of Arts (English, specializing in Humanities Computing) from the University of Alberta.

Peter’s teaching interests include the labour force in networked society, information and communication technology (ICT) education in post-secondary institutions, ICT standardization, and twentieth century English literature. Similarly, his research interests include theories of technology and practice, particularly how technologies can be used beneficially in differing cultural and social contexts.

Past technology-focused research projects that he has helped to coordinate include the creation of the Kinji Imanishi Digital Archive (2004) and the Technology Edge Research Project (ongoing) at the University of Alberta. His academic publications have appeared in the Journal of Information Technology Education (JITE), and his creative works have appeared in such publications as The White Wall Review and The Edmonton Syncrude NeXtfest Journal.
