She received her undergraduate and Masters’ degrees (BA and MA) from Queen’s University and her PhD from the University of Toronto.

Patricia is a recipient of a Ryerson McConnell Grant for Innovative Teaching as well as a Ryerson Experiential Learning Initiatives Grant. She has sat as a faculty member of the Ryerson Teaching and Learning Office and attends international teaching and learning conferences. In both her graduate and undergraduate public policy and federalism courses, Patricia makes use of simulation exercises which allow the students to role-play the positions of Canadian politicians and senior civil servants during House of Commons Debates or First Ministers Meetings.

While having taught across many core Canadian Politics fields, Patricia is most interested in public policy, federalism and qualitative methodology. She is currently pursuing research in all three of these areas, as well as engaging in experiential teaching and learning research.
