As a Politics & Governance student at Ryerson,
you are required to take a number of professionally-related courses, most
of which are to be chosen from lists that provide you with considerable
choice. If you choose carefully, you can earn a Minor while also satisfying
the professionally-related requirements for your Politics & Governance
degree. Here’s how.
- Review the Minors
available
- Identify any Minors you find interesting and the
configuration of courses required to satisfy their requirements
- Compare the Minor requirements with the professionally-related
requirements of your program as shown in Table
I, Table
III, or Table
IV
- If enough of the courses required to meet the requirements
of the Minor appear in the Professionally-Related Tables of your program,
you need simply ensure that you take the courses that appear in both
places.
The following Minors should be readily available to
students of Politics & Governance
If all of the courses necessary
to satisfy the requirements of a Minor you find interesting do not appear
on the Professionally-Related Tables of your program, it does not necessarily
mean that you cannot complete the Minor.
- According to the Minors
Policy of Ryerson University, you may pursue any Minor if “at
least one-half of the Minor’s courses [are] included in the student’s
program.” So if at least three (3) courses required by the Minor
are in the Professionally-Related Tables of your program, you can probably
complete the Minor – but you should consult the Department of
Politics and Public Administration before proceeding.
- Minors in this category include:
Students may also complete the (CE)
Certificate in Food Security
Students may also complete the (CE)
Certificate in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management but may NOT
complete both a Minor and the Certificate.
