2017 Grade Range for Admission / Wait List Consideration
: 72-76%*

Undeclared Science is a one-year entry option that allows you time to explore foundation science courses before deciding which one you wish to pursue as your major.

At a time when many branches of science are converging and new fields are emerging, there has never been a more exciting time to study science. Ryerson students in this diverse field of study learn about established principles and current practices in the broad areas of biology, chemistry and medical physics to gain a career-oriented science education. Scientists use problem-solving skills and technological expertise to understand a variety of concepts and questions in modern science.

The four-year degree programs in Biology, Chemistry, and Medical Physics share a common first-year foundation, in which students acquire breadth in the sciences, followed by three years of a specific program of study. Students who are initially undecided about which one of these programs best matches their interests and goals may be admitted as Undeclared.

The common first-year foundation gives Undeclared students time to explore each of the three program areas before applying to the program of their choice. In addition to BSc foundation courses, your first-year studies will include an introduction to the use of computers as scientific tools, and an orientation course that will support you in making a successful transition to university and planning your steps to degree completion. All of your completed courses will be credited to your new program. Program transfers are considered on a competitive basis and are subject to program capacity.

This program selects students on the basis of academic achievement/grades only. Additional non-academic requirements are not required for admission consideration.
