University Initiatives

Ryerson University thrives on ideas and innovative thinking. Ryerson staff and faculty shape and realize goals, leverage our collective strength, and promote knowledge entrepreneurship. Emerging from these roles are initiatives that help to embed Ryerson in the community, prepare our students for the 21st-century job market, and create partnerships that stimulate research.

The Provost and Vice President Academic directs projects that support the Academic Plan. At the same time, the Provost works with the President, other Vice Presidents, Vice Provosts, Deans, Chairs and others to develop University-wide initiatives. The following projects will transform the Ryerson landscape:

• School of Image Arts and Ryerson Image Centre
  
• Mattamy Athletic Centre
  
• Pedestrianizing Gould St.
  
• Student Learning Centre
  
• Health Sciences Building

These initiatives and others support the vision of campus renewal announced by President Sheldon Levy in 2006.
