The Vice Provost Students reports to the Provost and Vice President Academic.
The Vice Provost Students oversees the development, implementation, and management of strategies and policies related to student recruitment, retention, success, and engagement. In addition, the Vice Provost Students is responsible for the arrangement and administration of non-academic support services for students.
The Vice Provost Students is a member of Ryerson’s senior administrative team, serves on various committees at the University, and is an ex-officio member of the Senate.

About the Vice Provost Students
Dr. Heather Lane Vetere serves as Ryerson University’s Vice Provost Students. She joined Ryerson in 2008. Previously, Dr. Lane Vetere was Executive Director of Student Housing Services at the University of Guelph. There, she oversaw capital planning, facilities, and programs for an on-campus residence system of more than 5,000 students.
Prior to her position at the University of Guelph, Dr. Lane Vetere was Dean of Students at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. She managed a broad portfolio of services pertaining to the quality of students’ on-campus experience.
She has served as President of the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS), and as the CACUSS-appointed board member of the Washington, DC-based Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
She recently contributed a chapter on Housing and Residence Life in Achieving Student Success: Effective student services in Canadian Higher Education (ed., D.H. Cox and C.C. Strange, 2010).
Dr. Lane Vetere received her doctorate in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She also holds degrees in consumer studies from the University of Guelph.

This support network helps students make a successful transition to university, develop career-related skills, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. - Registrar

The Office of the Registrar provides a broad range of academic support services concerning student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, grading, promotion and graduation assessment. This Office also develops course and exam schedules. - Athletics and Recreation

This unit is responsible for varsity and intramural sports programs, and for Ryerson’s Recreation and Athletics Centre.
