I am Director of the Anxiety Research and Treatment Lab at Ryerson, and a past president of the Canadian Psychological Association. In addition, I hold faculty appointments at the University of Toronto (Department of Psychiatry) and McMaster University (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences). Previously, I was based at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where I was Psychologist-in-Chief and Founding Director of both the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre and the Clinical Psychology Residency Program.
My research interests are in the area of anxiety disorders, perfectionism, and cognitive behaviour therapy. Current projects include a CIHR-funded study on motivational interviewing for severe generalized anxiety disorder, as well as several other projects in the areas of social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and perfectionism.
