Biography:

I received my PhD in experimental social psychology from the University of Alberta.  Then I completed a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) post-doctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia.  I worked for four years as an Assistant Professor at York University before coming to Ryerson in 1994.

For about 25 years my research interests were focused on the role of eyewitness evidence in police investigations and trials.  My current research interests are aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in university courses, and I head up the Research About Teaching (R.A.T.) lab.  My teaching interests include courses like introductory psychology, research methods, critical thinking and statistics.  As Undergraduate Program Director for Psychology, I welcome inquiries from current and prospective students.
