Psychology Graduate Program (MA, PhD)
PhD Program Requirements (Psychological Science)
To be awarded the PhD (Psychological Science) degree, students must complete the following requirements.
The Psychology PhD is offered on a full-time basis only, and is a three-year program. Required courses are typically offered every year; elective courses offered vary from year to year.
PhD Degree Requirements (Psychological Science)
| PS9201 | Professional Issues in Psychological Science -normally completed during the Fall term of PhD Year 1 |
| PS9202 | Practicum in Psychological Science II * -normally completed during the Fall and Winter terms of PhD Year 2 |
| Milestone: | Comprehensive Requirement - completed by the end of PhD Year 1 |
| Milestone: | Dissertation |
| Electives: | Three Psychology Electives - at least one graduate psychology elective should be taken per academic year. If a History of Psychology credit was not completed at the MA or senior undergraduate level, PS9101 History of Psychology (or an equivalent graduate psychology course) must be one of the graduate electives taken |

The School of Graduate Studies minimum residency requirement for the PhD program in psychology is six academic terms (for each program); note that each academic year is three terms. Continuous enrollment throughout the residency period is required.
