Launching the Brain, Perception, and Cognition (BPAC) Research Group
by Lixia Yang
The rich influence of the brain on perception and cognition is all around us: flourishing inside the laboratory, it is of pragmatic value outside the laboratory. To study this influence, nine core faculty members and their associated laboratories in the Department of Psychology have teamed up to form the Brain, Perception and Cognition (BPAC) Group. BPAC provides a vital forum for sharing research ideas, promoting collaborations, and a common base for generating new research synergies across perception, cognition, and neuroscience. As Ben Dyson notes, “With the breadth and depth of knowledge in the BPAC labs, we can connect perceptual and cognitive psychology to the outside world to the same degree as other more immediate branches of psychology. As a collective we hope to explore these issues through our research and teaching.” The BPAC labs are located in the Psychology Research and Training Center at 105 Bond St.
