Psychology Department hosts 40th Annual Cheiron Conference

The Department of Psychology was proud to host Cheiron: The International Society for the History of Behavioural and Social Sciences’s 40th Annual Meeting at Ryerson University, June 26-29, 2008. The conference was organized and chaired by Dr. Wade Pickren.
Over 60 papers included presentations from colleagues in Canada, United States, Norway, Spain, the United Kindom, Japan, Turkey, and Switzerland, representing the disciplines of Psychology, History and History of Science, Medicine, Health, Philosophy of Science, Literature and Culture, Sociology, Human Services, Media & Communication, and Education. Keynote addresses were presented by Gerald Grob (Rutgers) and Kurt Danziger (York). Our own Wade Pickren presented a paper on Indigenous Psychology and Chanda Pundir, one of our graduate students, presented her research on Psychology in India.
