Ryerson Centre for Children, Youth and Families
What is the Ryerson Centre for Children, Youth and Families?
The Ryerson Centre for Children, Youth and Families encompasses a Research Centre that supports and promotes, both internally and externally, research on children, youth and families that is taking place across Ryerson, and a practice arm, which includes the Gerrard Resource Centre that works with families in the local community. The work of the CCYF also complements and enhances educational programs offered at Ryerson, including the Family Supports and Community Practice Minor, and the Family Supports Certificate.
Ryerson faculty members from across the University working in the area of children, youth and families are coming together from a variety of disciplines to establish this RCCYF. The mission of the Centre is to promote the well being of children, youth, families and communities through collaborative community-based research, dissemination, community participation, and curriculum and service delivery. Members of the RCCYF are currently involved in a number of initiatives. Please contact Drs Rachel Berman or Patrizia Albanese for further details. The centre gratefully acknowledges the financial support received through the Faculty of Community Services' Research Team Strategic Investment Fund, and the Faculty of Arts.
