Advanced Digital and Professional Training (ADaPT) is a youth skills development and internship program aimed at bridging the employment gap for recent graduates.

ADaPT provides hands-on workshops in digital literacy, communications, research, business financials, career skills, and more, along with an opportunity to compete for a professional paid internship.

ADaPT is a Youth Program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure (MEDEI) under the Youth Skills Connection program that mandates program providers to select candidates at or below 29 years of age.

ADaPT Summer 2016 program is an 8-day  (9 am - 6 pm) boot-camp. Start date: Monday, May 9th.  Orientation activities will be scheduled the week of May 2-6.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

The ADaPT program is open to Ryerson and non-Ryerson students in their final year of study, recent graduates, and graduate students in Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities, Design and Business programs under the age of 29, who are looking to enhance their skills with advanced digital and professional training.

Company: BrightLane

Internship Title: Research Internship - Toronto Startup Incubator Landscape Assessment

BrightLane is a startup incubator and co-working space for artists, creatives and designers located in downtown Toronto. During her internship, ADaPT graduate Vladimira Steffek, provided a unique set of research, business and creative skills to assist BrightLane in addressing the need for innovation in the creative startup industry throughout Toronto and Canada.  Her research focused on achieving an in-depth understanding of the abilities, strengths, and weaknesses of the entire Toronto startup eco-system to identify gaps in the marketplace for artists and designers seeking support to develop their ideas and companies.

Company: San Romanoway Revitalization Project (SRRP)

Internship Title: Policy Intern

SRRP is a renowned non-profit organization with a focus on development and safety in the Jane-Finch community. During his internship, ADaPT Graduate Michael Guelliero took on the task of reviewing and revising the organizations Equity, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, Support Programs and Services to People with Disabilities. He also reviewed and analyzed by-laws, board and personnel policies and procedures, management, and the procedures manual to propose best practices.
