Controlled Goods

Ryerson researchers undertaking research involving controlled goods must conform to the federal Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR) and the federal Defence Production Act (DPA) as enforced by the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).

All research involving controlled goods that is conducted within the university or by faculty, staff, or students affiliated with the university, whether funded or not, must be reviewed and authorised under the Controlled Goods Regulations. In addition, security assessments are required as part of the process with the consent of the applicant.

The Controlled Goods program at Ryerson University is a joint initiative of OVPRI, the Office of the General Counsel & Secretary of the Board of Governors, the Human Resources Department, and the Centre for Environmental Health & Safety Management.

Please contact Toni Fletcher, REB Coordinator, by phone (416-979-5000 ext. 7112) or by e-mail (toni.fletcher@ryerson.ca) for additional information before proceeding.
