Ryerson University and partner institutions the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, the University of Waterloo, and Western University will receive $1.4 million over the next four years as part of the Hydro One Women in Engineering University Partnership program. One of the program’s main goals will be to develop new outreach activities for elementary and high school girls to boost awareness and understanding of engineering as a preferred career option. The program will also aim to enhance the success of female undergraduate students by providing support through mentoring and other networking opportunities with female engineers currently working in the field, and to creative supportive networks for female engineering graduates as they transition into the workforce.
