Transportation gets academic focus
Partnership with logistics organization is developing
Mohamed Lachemi, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science (FEAS) and David Collenette, vice-chair of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport North America (CILTNA), sign a memorandum of understanding on campus recently. As a result of the MOU, Ryerson and CILTA are going to work together on CILTNA certification for Ryerson students and investigate the possibility of closer linkages on logistics and transportation research projects. The event also marked the establishment of a CILTNA Toronto-Ryerson chapter. Said Easa, quality assurance director for FEAS and civil engineering professor, will chair the new chapter. CILTNA promotes the recognition of excellence in transportation through education, public forums and liaison throughout the transport industry. Collenette is a former federal cabinet minister.
