Ryerson's Department of Physics specializes in Medical and Biomedical Physics, applying fundamental science to the improvement of human health and healthcare. Our research focus centres on medical imaging and treatment modalities, computational and mathematical physics, health physics, and physics education. Our award-winning faculty members are recognized or emerging leaders in their fields; all are committed to education and discovery. Our cutting-edge laboratories include instrumentation that is unique worldwide.
Our department is small, friendly, and rich in facilities. Our students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Both our faculty and our student population are unique among departments of physics in having a nearly equal gender representation.
