The graduate program in biomedical physics focuses on the development of innovative methods of detection, diagnosis and prevention of disease. Our students will work closely with faculty and staff in developing new technologies that will place Canada at the forefront of the biomedical technology sector.

Our Master of Science (MSc) students will be exposed to multidisciplinary coursework in engineering, computer science and biology, in addition to physics; this broad framework is necessary to help shape their understanding of innovation in the medical field today. At Ryerson, we seek to remain at the forefront of scientific technology development, so that the individuals who successfully complete this program are prepared to enter the very best of laboratories and offices around the world.

The PhD in biomedical physics is a full-time program that requires students to produce original research and prepare a dissertation. An extension of the master’s course, we aim to train successful, independent scientists with the ability to conceptualize, design, and implement research. PhD students are able to apply their skills to make significant contributions to the development and advancement of biomedical products and systems.
