Crime Prevention

Crime prevention is the anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it. We like to look at it from the point of a triangle. In order for a crime to occur there must be three sides complete on the triangle. First you need a victim, whether it be a person, an office, vehicle etc., second you need a suspect and thirdly you need an opportunity to commit the crime. Crime prevention works on removing the foundation of the triangle which is the opportunity. If you remove the opportunity you remove the possibility of the potential for a crime to occur by 90%.

Our Commitment to You

Security and Emergency Services is committed to reducing the opportunity for crime to occur on campus 24hrs a day, but we want to remind you that everyone in the community should take some responsibility for their own safety. Safety Tips
