RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Environmental Justice; Racialization; Community-Based Research
Professor Teelucksingh’s research over the last ten years has focused on examining the relationship between environmental justice in Canada and concerns for social inequality. In 2008-2010, she was a co-director of the Environment Health Justice Research Interest Group, which was funded by the Centre for Urban Health Initiatives. Dr. Teelucksingh also has SSHRC and CIHR funded grants as well as numerous publications in the areas of environmental justice and racialization in Canada. One of her recent grants explores energy reduction strategies and policies in light of Toronto’s diverse population. Her research uses a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to explore her areas of interest, including community-based research.
