Marilyn Lee taught in the School of Occupational and Public Health from 1986 until her retirement in 2013. She is a graduate of the school and her professional experience includes six years in the field as a certified public health inspector in Guelph, Ontario.
Lee received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts, followed by a master of science in Pathobiology from the School of Hygiene and Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
She is member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors and has served on several committees, including the Advisory Council on Drinking Water Quality and Treatment Standards (reporting to the Minister of the Environment, Ontario) and the NSF Joint Committee on Drinking Water Treatment Devices.
Lee conducts applied research with an interest in analyzing trends in food-borne illness and antibiotic-resistant food-borne pathogens.
