Final Grades

You will be able to access your final grades on RAMSS approximately two weeks after the official end of term. Access to RAMSS is through Blackboard. Go to my.ryerson.ca. You will need a valid login ID and password. If you have a REQUIRED TO WITHDRAW or PERMANENT PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL Standing, you will receive written notification from Enrollment Services and Student Fees.

When do I receive my grades?

Your grades will be posted for single-term courses at the end of the Fall term.

Your grades will be posted for multi-term courses at the end of the academic year.

Grades for the Spring/Summer terms will be posted approximately two weeks after each session.

You will not receive your grades if?you have outstanding debts or?obligations to Ryerson. See GRADE WITHHOLDS, for more information.

For graduating students. All information/communication regarding graduation will be mailed to your address indicated on RAMSS.

Be sure to keep Ryerson up-to-date on your address! See Taking Care of Business: Mailing Address and E-mail Changes for more information or go to RAMSS.

What designations should I know about besides grades?

There are a number of three-letter designations you might see. For example: If you received a transfer credit for a course you took elsewhere, you will receive a CRT beside the course number. See the Calendar for a complete listing of this type of designation.

Two non-grade designations require some action from you:

F-S, short for redeemable failure, means you have marginally failed a course and the professor is giving you the opportunity to write a redeemable failure exam. If you pass the exam you will receive a "D-" as a final grade in the course. If you fail the exam,

you will receive an "F".

INC, short for Incomplete, means that the work you have submitted for a course is at least of passing level, but you have some work to complete or missed the final exam due to medical or compassionate reasons. To receive an INC grade, you must contact your instructor within three working days or as soon as reasonably possible of the missed exam, and petition for an INC grade. You must provide proof of the situation that prevented you from writing the exam (e.g. Ryerson Medical Certificate).

If the instructor gives you an incomplete grade, make sure you get a written statement within seven (7) working days telling you what you need to do to complete the outstanding work, and the date you must hand in the work. The deadline must be not more than three months after you receive the incomplete grade. If you do not hand in the work by the deadline, the INC will be changed to an "F".

PSD (passed) grade has no numerical value and is not included in your grade point average calculation.
