Attendance

Is attendance mandatory?

See the course outline of each class, for any attendance or participation expectations. Full details are found at www.ryerson.ca/senate.

Ryerson does not have a mandatory attendance rule. It is a good idea to maintain regular attendance to make the best of your academic performance.

Some programs and/or classes do have attendance regulations with which you will be expected to comply.

In some classes you will be graded for participation. Usually this includes regular attendance.

What if I miss classes because of illness, family problems, or other reasons?

See Academic Matters: Missing Classes for information on what to do.
