You can earn a certificate while you are working towards a degree. A list of certificates can be found on The Chang School website at www.ryerson.ca/ce. Undergraduate students wishing to pursue a continuing education certificate program, should be aware of possible restrictions; please refer to the Curriculum Advising website at www.ryerson.ca/curriculumadvising for complete details. How many certificates may I take? You may be registered in only one certificate at the same time as you are enrolled in a degree program. I am in a full-time undergraduate program. Can I use courses from my program for a certificate? Yes, as long as at least 50% of the courses required for the certificate in question, are taken through The Chang School as a student registered in that particular certificate. Courses taken prior to formal registration in a certificate program, will not be included in the calculation of your cumulative GPA, but will be used towards your graduation requirements. How do I register in a certificate? To allow maximum flexibility in crediting external courses and/or courses previously taken at Ryerson, students should register in the certificate at the beginning of their first course. You must register in the certificate program prior to the completion of 50% of the requirements for the certificate. Complete and submit "The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education Certificate Program Registration/Transfer Form" to Enrollment Services and Student Fees (POD-64) or fax the completed application to 416-979-5236 in advance of the published application deadline. The Form is available at Enrollment Services and Student Fees, Room POD-64; The Chang School Office, Heaslip House, 297 Victoria Street; and online at www.ryerson.ca/ce under Forms and Documents. I have completed all the courses for the certificate. What happens next? You must apply to graduate from the certificate program just as you do for your degree. This applies to students in both full- and part-time programs. See Academic Matters: Graduation for information about this procedure.
