I am an international student. How do I get a UHIP card?

All international full-time students with valid Study Permits are required to have the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). This is a compulsory plan which you and your dependent(s) must enroll in within 30 days of your arrival in Canada.

UHIP provides medical and health care benefits in cases of illness or accident. The UHIP premium for September 2012 to August 2013 is $684. Payment will be included on your Fees statement and is due with your fees. If you do not receive a form in the mail, copies are available from International Services for Students (ISS) in POD-61.

ISS will assist you with filling out the enrollment form, answering your questions about payment, coverage, claims, temporary proof, etc. You must submit the completed form to ISS. UHIP Cards will be available in the ISS office in mid-November for distribution
