Athletics and Recreation

Athletics and Recreation offers something for everyone - from serious athletes who want to join varsity teams to those who like to stay fit and have some fun at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (RAC). Pursue your favorite sport or recreational activity or explore a new athletic challenge by choosing from the dozens of programs and facilities available to all students.

INTRAMURAL PROGRAM

Our biggest student activity! Last year, over 2,300 students took time out from study pressures to socialize and have fun by participating in Ryerson's Intramural program. Open to all students regardless of their level of sports skills, our Intramural program is a great way to meet people - and get some exercise at the same time! More than 25 different leagues run throughout the academic year. Visit our website at www.ryerson.ca/sportsandrec for more details or e-mail us at intramur@ryerson.ca

RECREATION AND ATHLETICS CENTRE (RAC)

Our facility is equipped with a variety of cardio machines, both weight machines and free weights, a three-lane indoor running track, two gymnasiums, two dance studios, four international squash courts, a 25-yard, six-lane pool and spacious men's and women's locker rooms, both with saunas. We are open seven days per week to serve you. More than 9,000 students use RAC each year.

RAC programs offer something for everyone - group fitness classes, instructional programs, certification courses and highly qualified Personal Trainers.

There are also five sports clubs for students to join - badminton, cheerleading, fencing, karate, kung fu, master's swim, and rowing.

Visit RAC at:

RAC is an underground facility located in St. James Square, also referred to as the "Quad" in the centre of the Ryerson campus. Enter through the 40 Gould Street arch, which is one block North of Dundas and one block East of Yonge. Once in the square, enter RAC through the historic facade.
