Career Boost - International (CBI)  provides part-time, on-campus employment to full-time Ryerson students who hold valid study permits with good academic standing and whose educational costs are not covered by Canadian government student assistance programs.

CBI aims to offer Canadian work experience to eligible international students and covers $10 per hour of the international student's salary for approved positions.

Employer Guidelines

Employers who participate in the Career Boost - International (CBI) program are expected to provide an enriching educational and professional experience for the international student. Important Program Dates


  • Thursday, July 6th, 2017: Employer application is open i.e. submission of Position Creation Request Forms.

  • Beginning August 4th, 2017: Job Postings available through ISS website.

  • September 5, 2017 to December 8, 2017: Fall work study term employment dates.

  • October 27, 2017: International Student Support will contact those position holders who have not filled their position(s). In the event that the employer has not filled the position, the funding will be returned and/or reallocated to the pool.

  • December 1, 2017  Deadline for students to be hired for the 2017/2018 academic year.

  • January 8, 2018 to April 6, 2018: Winter work study term employment dates.
